Restylane is used to refresh the
dermal volume loss that allows wrinkles to form.
It can and is also used to amplify lips and fill
in acne scars. Restylane requires no skin
testing prior to treatment. The chemically
stabilized hyaluronic acid found in Restylane
can remain in the dermis up to one year. This is
much longer than the collagen based dermal
fillers.
Once you are injected, Restylane blends into the
dermis and binds water. You can see

almost immediately. It does not block the normal
metabolism and movement of nutrients or oxygen.
Over time, Restylane is gradually reabsorbed
without a trace and for this reason; follow up
treatments every 6 to 12 months are necessary to

How will I look after my Restylane
treatment?
After receiving Restylane injections, you can resume
your normal activities immediately. The discomfort is
very minimal and the treatment site may have a little
swelling, which may last a few hours. You might have
some slight bruising however it’s nothing make up can’t
hide. Depending on the area that is treated, the
corrections can last up to six months or longer. If the
lips are treated, initial swelling and tenderness may
occur within the first several days, but subsides after
two or three days.
